On Saturday, June 19th, ibrahim abdul-matin spoke to a crowd of hundreds about "The Color Green" at "Takin it to the Streets." "Streets" is an urban international festival organized by the Innercity Muslim Action Network and drew crowds up to 20,000 from all over the nation and the world. ibrahim spoke on the Faith & Justice stage alongside Shireen Pishdadi, Zarakyah Ben Sar Ahmadiel, and Sarah Jawaid.

"This gathering, the largest Muslim-organized festival, was the ideal place to get people thinking about the environment. We were in beautiful Marquette Park in Chicago, the organizers were deliberate about recycling, and the food bazaar had hundreds of organic and locally grown food options available!"

May Alhassen attended the talk. "The color green is sacred in Islam. Ibrahim's passionate call to Muslims to go green is inspiring. Kudos to IMAN for remembering the environment at this incredible festival." ibrahim and his Green Deen Dream Team spent the day handing out postcards inviting people to pre-order his book, "Green Deen: What Islam Teaches About Protecting the Planet.".
